Giratina (mainly Altered but applies to Origin) has an excellent dual typing of Ghost and Dragon, which means that its resisting a lot of the tier's staple damage dealing moves (which are a lot of the time moves that it's not super weak to like Ice, Fairy, Dragon, Ghost, and Dark).Īltered has a defensive-spec stat spread while Origin is more offensive, on top of which Altered is the only one with a decent type coverage with Ancient Power and Dragon Claw to compliment Shadow Claw. Snorlax, even a not too great one, is apparently good if it has lick & body slam, I'm not sure, I've not got one, but low attack, high stamina & defence gives it a unique advantage but again, I wouldn't put much stock in that. Outside of that, Alolan Muk sounds like a good pokemon to have (I've used him, I don't agree, he's sort of weak as hell and can't tank nearly as well as it should be able to).

Gyrados is your best bet with dragon breath & crunch. I used a Kingdra for a while, and while it was clutch in some games, against Giratina it'll be whittled down fast since it's part dragon. Your Charizard with Dragon Claw is handy if it has fire spin, 4 attacks charge it and you could potentially hit Giratina once before your opponent uses shields (generally they expect overheat so they think they can tank it). Outside of that, there's not much I can recommend, it's a mixed bag depending on lag, whatever moves the Giratina has, and how many shields are left. Honestly, Giratina of any kind is a hugely OP pain in the arse, and the only way I manage to beat it is by using a Gardevoir with Charm, and that's if I'm lucky.
